Frequently asked questions
The questions we get asked most about the SHIMICRETE PU Cement Complete Kit.
What is the SHIMICRETE PU Cement Complete Kit used for?
It is a complete polyurethane cement resurfacing kit that lays down a tough, seamless concrete style topping. It rebuilds and protects worn floors and creates a hard wearing surface for kitchens, wet areas, workshops and commercial floors.
What is included in the kit?
The kit includes the cement components, prep materials and a step by step installation guide, all matched in one pack so you have everything needed to complete the topping.
How is it applied?
Prepare the concrete so it is clean, sound and profiled, then mix the components to the stated ratio and trowel or screed the topping over the surface at the required thickness. Work in sections and follow the guide for mixing and finishing.
How much does one kit cover?
Each kit covers 3-5 m² at the recommended thickness. Measure your area and add another kit for larger spaces. Coverage depends on the thickness and the condition of the slab.
Is it suitable for DIY installers?
It is more involved than a roll on coating because it is trowel applied, but it is achievable for a confident DIY installer who follows the guide. Take your time on prep and work in manageable sections. Phone support is included if you get stuck.
