Frequently asked questions

Can you do the dining room and the kitchen?

Yes. We use decorative finishes front-of-house and hygienic, slip-rated systems in the kitchen, so the whole venue is covered by one seamless floor.

Can it be made non-slip?

Yes. Where the surface requires slip resistance a non-slip additive is added to the top coats. We can offer R10, R11 and R12 slip ratings for commercial applications and wet areas. Please contact our technical team for further assistance.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Seamless floors are the lowest-maintenance floors available. A mop with a mild detergent is usually all it takes. There are no grout lines for spills to stain and the non-porous surface will not harbour bacteria.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the system and the size of the area. A traditional epoxy build needs several coats with curing time between each. Our polyaspartic systems dry much faster and can allow a floor to be applied in a single day.

Epoxy flooring for restaurants and cafes

A hospitality floor has a double life. Out front it has to look the part and suit your fit-out; out back it has to be hygienic, slip-safe and able to take grease, food acids and constant wash-downs. Shimicoat systems cover both, so the whole venue runs on one seamless, easy-clean floor.

Decorative flake and metallic finishes give the dining room a warm, premium look, while slip-rated, chemical-resistant systems keep the kitchen safe and compliant. Fast-curing polyaspartic options limit your closed days. Shimicoat supplies and supports hospitality flooring Australia-wide.
