Mining and resources flooring

Heavy-duty epoxy and polyaspartic floor coatings engineered for the toughest mining, workshop and processing environments. Acid and abrasion resistance, chemical containment and slip safety that stand up to the harshest conditions.

Mining and resources flooring

What this space demands from a floor

Mining and resources sites put floors under extreme stress: heavy vehicles, corrosive chemicals, constant abrasion and large concrete slabs that move moisture. Shimicoat coatings are engineered to protect the concrete and keep workers safe.

Survive heavy vehicles, forklifts and constant abrasion
Resist acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons and process chemicals
Chemical containment and bunding for spill control
Slip resistance for wet and contaminated work areas
Moisture-vapour tolerance on large concrete slabs
Clear line marking for safe traffic and pedestrian zones

Why Shimicoat is the right fit

Heavy-duty

High-build floors that take forklifts, loaders and heavy point loads without failing.

Acid and chemical resistant

Protects concrete from corrosive chemicals, acids, alkalis and hydrocarbons across a broad pH range.

Containment and waterproofing

Acid-resistant containment linings and bunding protect against spills and leaks.

Slip resistant

Grip aggregates keep wet, contaminated work areas safe underfoot.

Abrasion resistant

A tough, impermeable surface engineered for the harshest industrial wear.

Australia-wide supply

Supplied and supported right across Australia, including remote sites.

Frequently asked questions

How durable is the floor?

Very. When fully cured the surface can withstand the weight of trucks, 4WDs, forklifts and heavy vehicles with ease. These are engineered as long-term, high-durability floors.

Are the coatings chemical and acid resistant?

Yes. Our chemical-resistant systems provide a broad spectrum of resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents and harsh chemicals, and are used to protect concrete in oil and gas, water and sewerage, mining and food processing facilities.

Can you provide chemical containment?

Yes. Shimicoat epoxy coatings provide chemical containment and corrosion protection, delivering a high-build layer of acid protection to containment walls, barriers and bunded areas.

Can it be applied to new or damp concrete?

New concrete should ideally cure for 28 days, but our MVT (moisture vapour mitigating) systems can be installed where slabs show high moisture, avoiding long delays on site.

Epoxy flooring for mining and resources

Few environments are as demanding on a floor as a mine site, processing plant or heavy workshop. Corrosive process chemicals, acids and hydrocarbons attack the concrete, heavy vehicles grind away at the surface, and spills have to be contained to protect the site and the environment. Shimicoat epoxy and polyaspartic systems are engineered to take it.

Chemical-resistant coatings protect concrete across a wide pH range, high-build abrasion-resistant finishes stand up to forklifts and loaders, acid-resistant containment linings keep spills contained, and MVT systems let you coat green or damp slabs. Shimicoat supplies and supports mining flooring right across Australia, including remote sites.
