SHIMICOAT Silica Sand is a crystalline silica sand that is dry, hard and chemically inert, making it an ideal aggregate for epoxy and polyaspartic concrete floor coating systems across Australia. It blends with epoxy and polyurethane resins to create a durable, hard-wearing epoxy mortar for professional and commercial flooring.

What is Silica Sand used for?
It is a graded silica sand used as a filler and broadcast aggregate in epoxy and resin floors. It bulks out repairs, builds thickness and adds grip and strength to coatings.
What sizes are available?
Silica Sand is supplied in a single size. Choose the amount that suits your project on this page before adding to cart.
How do I use it?
Add it gradually to your mixed resin and stir until you reach the consistency you want. For a broadcast finish, scatter it over the wet coat instead. Use only what you can apply within the resin working time.
Which coatings does it work with?
It is designed to be used with our epoxy and resin systems. If you are unsure how much to add or broadcast for your job, contact us with the product name and we will guide you.
Is this a finished product on its own?
No. It is a filler and aggregate used with resin, not a coating you apply by itself. You will also need the matching resin and hardener for your project.
