Description

The Shimicoat T-Bar Floor Applicator lays down epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic coatings, sealers and primers in an even, streak free film across large floor areas. The zinc plated steel frame threads onto any standard extension pole, and the foam sleeve pulls off and replaces in seconds when it is spent.

Available in 12 inch (305mm) and 18 inch (457mm) widths. The frame and the sleeve are sold separately, so choose the part and the size you need above. Most installers keep one frame and a stack of spare sleeves, since the sleeve is disposable and the frame is not.

Using it

Pour the mixed coating onto the floor in manageable sections and spread it with steady pressure, keeping a wet edge as you go. Clean the frame straight after use with water for water based products or xylene for solvent based products. Sleeves are disposable, pull them off with pliers and bin them rather than trying to clean them.

Does the price include both the frame and the sleeve?
No. The frame and the sleeve are separate items, so pick the part you need above. A complete applicator is one frame plus one sleeve in the same size. The frame is reusable and the sleeve is disposable.
Which size should I buy?
The 18 inch (457mm) covers ground faster on open floors like garages and warehouses. The 12 inch (305mm) is easier to control in tighter areas and around obstacles. Both use the same threaded socket.
Will it fit my extension pole?
Yes, the frame has a standard threaded socket that suits most 22 to 25mm extension poles.
How many sleeves will I need for a job?
Plan on a fresh sleeve per coat, and keep a spare on hand. Sleeves are disposable and are not designed to be cleaned and reused, so it is cheaper to swap than to try to save one.
How do I clean the frame?
Clean it immediately after use. Water based coatings wash off with clean water. Solvent based coatings need xylene or acetone. Pull the old sleeve off with pliers first, then clean the frame and dry it before storage.
What coatings can I apply with it?
Epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic floor coatings, water based and solvent based sealers, primers and concrete densifiers, on concrete, screeds, terrazzo, stone and timber.
