Description

Shimicoat Glass Beads are crystal clear, spherical glass granules broadcast into floor coatings to increase slip resistance and create safer, more durable floors across Australia. Compatible with epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurethane and acrylic sealer resins, these high impact beads add traction to smooth concrete surfaces without clouding the finish.

Ideal for smooth finish concrete, mild sloping driveways, pool surrounds, loading bays, stairs, access ramps and high traffic areas in public buildings, hospitals and schools. Simply mix into or broadcast onto your chosen Shimicoat resin system. Please note these beads improve slip resistance and are not a guaranteed anti-slip product, as traction is also affected by slope, moisture and surface texture.

Available in a range of sizes from 1kg to 20kg and in grit sizes from Super Fine to Super Coarse for both general and specialised floors. Choose the size and grit that suit your project below.

What is Glass Beads used for?
It is an anti slip additive that adds grip to resin and coated floors. It is mixed into a clear coat or broadcast onto a wet coat to create a slip resistant surface for ramps, wet areas, walkways and outdoor floors.
What sizes and grades can I choose?
Glass Beads comes in 1kg, 2kg, 4kg, 8kg and 20kg. It also comes in grades from Super Fine, Fine, Medium, Coarse and Super Coarse. Finer grades give a subtle texture and coarser grades give more aggressive grip. Choose your option before adding to cart.
How do I use it?
You can broadcast it onto a wet coat and seal over the top, or stir it into your clear topcoat before rolling on. Broadcasting gives stronger, more even grip, while mixing in is quicker and gives a finer texture.
How much do I need?
It depends on the texture you want and your coverage area. A light scatter for fine grip uses very little, while a heavier broadcast for strong grip uses more. Check the data sheet and order a little extra so you can apply it evenly.
Which coatings does it work with?
It works with our epoxy and polyaspartic clear coats. If you are matching it to a specific coating or slip rating, contact us and we will recommend the right grade.
