What is the Epoxy Metallic Floor Complete Kit used for?
It creates a high gloss decorative metallic floor with a swirled marble or lava look. It suits garages, retail spaces, showrooms, offices and living areas where you want a seamless statement finish.
What is included in the kit?
The kit includes a tinted prime coat, metallic pigment, a clear epoxy body coat that carries the metallic effect, a clear protective topcoat, surface prep etch and a step by step installation guide. Everything you need to coat the area in one complete pack.
How do I prepare the surface and apply it?
Clean the concrete, repair any cracks, then etch or grind so the surface is sound and porous. You roll on the prime coat, then apply the metallic body coat and work the pigment with a roller or trowel to create the swirl, and finish with the clear topcoat once cured.
How is coverage worked out and what sizes are available?
This is sold as a complete kit covering a set area, so match the kit to the size of your floor in square metres. Coverage assumes a properly prepared, non porous surface, so very rough or thirsty concrete may use a little more.
What does the finished floor look like and how durable is it?
The result is a high gloss, hard wearing seamless floor with depth and movement from the metallic pigment. The clear topcoat protects the colour from abrasion and everyday wear so it stays glossy with normal cleaning.
Is this a difficult DIY project for a first timer?
It is achievable as a DIY project, though the metallic effect takes a little practice because every floor is unique. Following the included guide, working in sections and not overworking the pigment will give you the best result.
