Description

Carbosil Patch & Repair Complete Kit is a viscosifying fumed silica (also known as Aerosil) used to thicken epoxy resin into a smooth, non-sagging, high-strength mixture. Engineered as a resin thickener and rheology modifier, this Australian additive gives your epoxy ideal thixotropic and shear-thinning properties so it stays put on vertical and overhead surfaces while remaining easy to work.

  • Thickens epoxy resin for coating, structural bonding, filleting and gap filling
  • Creates a non-sagging, high-strength mixture that holds its shape
  • Thixotropic and shear-thinning, so it is easy to trowel, screed and apply
  • Enhances anti-settling and anti-slump performance in resin, flow coats and gel coats
  • Excellent balance of thickening efficiency and easy dispersibility
  • Suited to reinforcement and gluing or adhesive applications

Use Carbosil to build the perfect consistency for patching and repair work, bonding components, forming strong fillets in corners and joints, and filling holes or gaps without runs or sagging. It is a versatile addition to any epoxy resin project.

Available in a Medium kit size to suit your repair and resin needs. Add Carbosil to your cart and take the guesswork out of mixing a reliable, non-sag epoxy.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked most about the Carbosil Patch & Repair Complete Kit Tinted.

What is the Carbosil Patch & Repair Complete Kit Tinted used for?
It makes a colour tinted, trowellable epoxy patching paste for filling holes and divots in concrete so the repair can be colour matched to the surrounding surface. The Carbosil filler keeps the paste easy to spread and sand smooth.
How is the tinted version different from the standard kit?
It includes a colour tint so the cured patch blends with the floor rather than standing out as a grey or pale spot. This is useful where the repair will be left exposed or finished with a clear coat.
What is included in the kit?
You get the epoxy resin in two parts, the named Carbosil lightweight filler powder and a colour tint to match the repair. A step by step installation guide is included to help you mix and apply it.
How do I mix and apply the tinted Carbosil paste?
Mix the epoxy parts at the stated ratio, add the colour tint, then stir in the Carbosil powder until smooth and trowellable. Press the paste into the hole, trowel it flush and sand it back level once cured.
How long does it take to cure?
The patching paste typically needs to cure before it can be sanded and coated, often overnight depending on temperature. Cooler conditions will extend the cure time.
Where can I use it and can I coat over it afterwards?
It suits interior concrete repairs where the colour of the patch matters, either left exposed or under a clear finish. Once cured and sanded smooth, it can also be coated over with epoxy or polyaspartic floor systems.
