Frequently asked questions
The questions we get asked most about the Cup Grinding Wheels.
What is Cup Grinding Wheels used for?
They are diamond grinding cup wheels that fit angle grinders and concrete grinders to prepare, level and profile concrete. They remove coatings, paint and high spots and rough up the surface so coatings stick.
What should I know before ordering?
Cup wheels are matched to your machine and disc size and to the job, with different segment styles for fast grinding versus finishing. Tell us your machine and what you are removing and we will point you to the right wheel.
Which type do I need?
Coarse, aggressive segments remove heavy coatings and high spots quickly, while finer segments give a smoother profile before coating. Choose based on how much you need to take off.
How long do they last?
Life depends on the hardness of the concrete and how much material you grind. Harder, more abrasive surfaces wear them faster. Even pressure and steady passes get the best life and finish.
Do I need dust extraction?
Concrete grinding creates fine dust, so use the wheel with dust extraction and suitable respiratory protection wherever possible. Many cup wheels suit shrouds that connect to a vacuum.
