What is Epoxy Waterproofing?
Epoxy resin is highly versatile. It can be applied over virtually any surface, including concrete, wood, tiling, metal – even glass. The chemical composition of epoxy means that it bonds tightly to the surface below, creating a wholly impermeable barrier through which nothing can pass. Epoxy waterproofing is so efficient because it’s poured into place as a liquid (in the case of flooring). This creates a level surface with no gaps, meaning there’s nowhere for moisture to seep through.
When using epoxy to waterproof walls or vertical surfaces, it’s easily painted into place. The same bonding process occurs, creating a smooth, gap-free surface that is, once again, wholly waterproof.

How to Choose the Right Solution
The most important aspect of epoxy waterproofing is to choose the right solution. The product is supplied in two parts: the resin and the hardener. Once mixed, the solution is poured (or painted) into place and allowed to harden and bond over a few hours. An epoxy resin floor is usually ready to walk on in 12-24 hours.
The ratio of resin to hardener can be anything from 1:1 up to 4:1 and will depend on the products used.
